May 2Crafty Chipboard Share Part 2

I'm back to share my second layout for 2Crafty Chipboard for May.

This ones titled:

"Adore"

A page about the mutual love and adoration between my son and our pet kitty. (So Cute!)

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:

"Fine Word Set 1"
"6" Revolution Frame"
"Polaroid Assorted Frames"
"Circle Frames"
"Mini Sampler Set 1"
"Triangle Set"
"Chain Lengths"

This page is more to my usual style - bold colour!
I couldn't stay away from it for too long!

I painted the title 'adore' from the "Fine Word Set 1" black, as I did some of the
"Circle Frames" and also the smaller circles from the "Mini Sampler Set 1".

I love how black contrasts with bold colour.

I applied gesso to the "Chain Lengths" and also the "6" Revolution Frame".

I also applied gesso to some of the "Polaroid Assorted Frames" and then I stamped
onto these using a mini chevron pattern and black ink.
I wanted these to look a bit artsy - definitely not perfect, so I just stamped randomly
without thinking about how even it was.

I added some pieces of scrap paper to the "Triangle Set".
I love how this adds a bit more colour to the layout.

I hope this has inspired you!

I'll be back soon.

May 2 Crafty Share Part 1

Good morning everybody.

Today I'm sharing my first layout for 2Crafty Chipboard for this month.

It's titled:

"Love"

This one is about documenting a guest book I created for a very special wedding we attended.
I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to create it and really wanted to have a memory of this.

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard:
"Polaroid Assortment Frames"
"Frame Viney Circles"
"Lace Heart Frames"
"Love Loopy Font Title"
"Grid Bits"
"ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars"
"Flower Doilies"

I applied white gesso to the "Grid Bits", a "Viney Circle Frame" and to the
"Love Loopy Title".  I then added white paint.

I decided to keep them plain white as a contrast to the dark background paper.

I tucked a few "Polaroid Assorted Frames" into my clusters - these I heat embossed
with a gorgeous shabby chic metallic emboss powder.

I also tucked in a few of the gorgeous "Flower Doilies".
I applied white gesso to these and then added a gold spritz to give them a slight colour/glow.

I added a "Lace Heart Frame" and decided to leave this plain - as the raw colour really complemented the layout and also I had added a lot of white chipboard to that particular area,
so it contrasted with those pieces nicely.

Finally to bring out the touch of red in the layout, I painted a few little hearts from the
"ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars" in a red colour and scattered these around the layout.

I did a lot of layering and clustering in this layout, and unlike my usual style of bright,
full-on colour,  I was very controlled and added just a splash of colour here and there.

May Scrap the Girls Challenge!!

Hello Scrap the Girls creatives!

Yup it's May!!
Gosh this year is flying by......

We have a new challenge over at Scrap the Girls and I LOVE it.
It's all about celebrating mothers, perfect with Mothers Day around the corner.

Here's the mood board for your inspiration.....

So beautiful.

Being a mum is my proudest role in life.  I absolutely adore my kids, they are definitely my world.

As soon as I saw the t-shirts, I knew I immediately thought of a photo of me and my girl, and I knew the story I wanted to tell.

I had matching t-shirts made for us as part of her birthday present last year.

We were planning out amazing USA trip, and my daughter is a massive fan of all things Disney.  To say she was excited about going to Disneyland was an understatement!!

We both love 'Frozen' and often argue tenaciously about the better sister.  She is totally Team Elsa and I'm all for Anna.

On top of this, we are told constantly how alike we are - so the sayings on the t-shirts in the mood board became the basis for my story.

Anyway, enough rambling, here's the layout:

My daughter and I share a love of feathers.

So I went a little crazy!!

I used quite a lot of Kit the Habit goodies, and had a lovely time layering upon layering!!

I snuck in a few feathers from 2Crafty Chipboard too - I added gold glitter to them!!

This months sponsor is the fabulous Cocoa Vanilla Studio!  I love their stuff and am still trying to get my hands on the last couple of ranges!

So what a great month to have a go at the challenge.......we all have some awesome mum pics (either you or your mum, or your partners mum, or a girlfriend....the list goes on) and you could come away with some Cocoa Vanilla goodies or some goodies from Kitaholic Kits!!

Yep 2 prizes this month!

We are celebrating 12 months since the fabulous Krisy Podolak took over at Scrap the Girls.  She is super talented and super organised, so we are giving away another prize this month!

I look forward to checking out your entries.
